All Eyes on YOU: How Blepharoplasty can take 10 years off
Have you been looking for an effective change that will make you look and feel younger? Feeling and looking younger is something all of us tend to desire as we age, and no place seems to make a bigger first impact than your eyes. They say the eyes are the gateway to the soul. It’s the first connection we make when we meet people, and the first thing we notice while talking to them. With age, your eyelids can get a bit droopy, however. Time and experience has its side effects. Baggy skin around the eyes, crow’s feet, and that sleepy/tired look are not things that anyone wants. Luckily, there’s a great solution!
Blepharoplasty can be the key to a fresh new “look”
Although most of us notice aging around our eyes, we often don’t think of this as something we can solve pretty easily with surgery. There are many creams, vitamins, and topical spa treatments on the market to help reduce the aging look on your eyelids, but none seem to work to the level that most people want. Blepharoplasty can shave about 10 years off your look, make your face feel young and healthy, and be a total game changer when it comes to confidence and mood. While it refreshes your appearance, it doesn’t change your look or give you a “fake” look.
More on how we perform this highly-effective procedure
Our Blepharoplasty procedures are not very time intensive, making them very popular with men and women in Santa Rosa, San Rafael, Sausalito, Mill Valley, and all over Marin County and the Bay Area. First, we use anesthesia to relax the face and eliminate pain and make a few simple incisions along the eyelids in inconspicuous places. This is often done in the creases of the upper and lower eyelids, where it is hard to see. Next, we remove excess tissue, fat, and skin, making your existing skin tighter, firmer, and younger looking. We then meticulously stitch the incisions together, to leave as little of a mark as possible, and create the most comfortable experience during the healing process.
There’s no “right age” to have Blepharoplasty done
While many people find that the immediate benefit of blepharoplasty is a reduction in the age of your look, there are many other reasons to get this done. People of all ages find that their eyelids can become droopy, uncomfortable, or effected by a number of things that occur to us over time in life. You don’t have to be older or younger to get this done. Like all of our procedures here, we go through a thorough evaluation and consultation with you ahead of time, to make sure we’re all on the same page as far as goals and expectations.
After Blepharoplasty it typically takes two weeks to recover fully, and you should be back to work between 1-2 weeks. Stitches are removed after about 5-7 days, and we recommend you wear sunglasses for the first few weeks when outside, as your eyelid area will be a bit sensitive. You also shouldn’t wear contact lenses, or use any other eye product, as it may irritate your eyes, and slow the healing process.
